Native American Indian Children

The center of Indian life like any society are the children. The full sized cradle board to the left shows the pride and importance of the children. Children are a blessing. As can be seen the Indian parents expressed their love of children in art. Both the practical and the playthings show an interest and attention to detail. These would not only amuse but stimulate a child's mind. The beauty was there to spark an interest in the practical as this motherly doll cares for her child. How do you care for a child not in your arms? The cute toy to the left makes a fine example. Youngs boys need examples too. As soon as the children start walking the art moves to the feet.
